Microsoft’s upcoming Lumia 650 will reportedly make a debut on February 1. The unveiling of the device is said to be ‘low key’ and it is being said that Microsoft will reveal details of the smartphone via an official blogpost rather than a dedicated media event.
A report by Windows Central offers a few specifications of the device as well. The Microsoft Lumia 650 is said to have a 5-inch 720p display. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 210 or 212 processor, paired with 1GB RAM. It will include an internal storage of 8GB, which can be further expanded via microSD card. In addition, it might feature an 8MP rear camera along with a 5MP front facing camera. Also, the Lumia 650 is said to be first and last Lumia for 2016.
The report also added that the Lumia 750 and 850 have been cancelled and there is not much to expect from Microsoft at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC). The company hasn’t officially announced any plans regarding MWC.
Recently, the company also announced that in an effort to push Windows 10, the company would be ending support for older Windows versions on new processors. This implies that users will not be able to run Windows 8 or older versions as these new processors from AMD, Intel, and Qualcomm will require the latest version of Windows to get enterprise support.
